Lisa was the first to vanish. One moment, she was right behind Mark, and the next, she was gone. "Lisa?" Mark called out, his voice echoing through the trees.
There was no answer, only the persistent whispers that seemed to mock his fear."We need to find her," Sarah said, her eyes wide
with terror. "We can't just leave her here."
Mark nodded, though he had no idea where to start. The
forest had become a twisted maze, each path looking the same as the last. They
pressed on, calling Lisa's name, but the only response was the eerie whispering
that grew louder with each step.
Suddenly, Tom stumbled and fell. "Tom!" Sarah
screamed, rushing to his side. He was pale and trembling, his eyes wide with
fear. "I saw something," he gasped. "A shadow... it took
Lisa."
Mark helped Tom to his feet, and they continued their
desperate search. But the forest seemed to close in around them, the trees
pressing closer, their branches reaching out like claws. The whispers grew
louder, more insistent, filling their minds with a sense of dread.
As they pressed on, Sarah suddenly stopped. "Do you
hear that?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. It was a faint
sound, like a child crying. "It sounds like Lisa," she said, hope
flickering in her eyes.
They followed the sound, their hearts pounding in their
chests. The crying grew louder, leading them to a small clearing. In the center
stood an old, dilapidated cabin, its windows dark and empty. "Lisa!"
Mark called out, but there was no answer.
Cautiously, they approached the cabin. The door creaked open
with a sound that sent chills down their spines. Inside, the air was thick with
dust and decay. "Lisa?" Sarah called out, but the only response was
the sound of their own footsteps echoing in the empty space.
They searched the cabin from top to bottom, but there was no
sign of Lisa. Despair settled over them like a heavy blanket. "We need to
get out of here," Tom said, his voice trembling. "This place... it's
not right."
But as they turned to leave, the door slammed shut with a
force that rattled the walls. The whispers grew louder, more urgent, filling
the room with their malevolent presence. The shadows seemed to move, creeping
closer, and a cold, icy hand brushed against Sarah's arm.
"Run!" Mark shouted, grabbing Sarah's hand and
pulling her towards the door. They burst out of the cabin and into the forest,
their breath coming in ragged gasps. The whispers followed them, growing louder
with each step.
And then, just as suddenly as they had started, the whispers
stopped. The forest was silent once more. They collapsed on the ground, gasping
for breath, their minds reeling from the terror they had just experienced.
But the relief was short-lived. When they looked around,
they realized that Tom was gone.
