In a tranquil forest, there lived a wise old owl named Oliver. Oliver was known far and wide for his wisdom and calm demeanor. Animals from every corner of the forest would come to seek his advice whenever they faced problems.

One sunny day, a young rabbit named Ruby approached Oliver. Ruby was troubled and anxious. "Oliver," she said, "I don't understand why some animals are so mean and selfish. Just today, a fox pushed me aside to grab the juiciest berries, and a squirrel refused to share any of his nuts with me."

Oliver listened patiently and then asked Ruby to follow him. He led her to a nearby stream and pointed to a tree that grew beside it. The tree was tall and sturdy, but its branches were twisted and gnarled. "This tree has seen many storms and harsh weather," Oliver said. "Yet, it stands tall and provides shelter and food to many creatures."

Ruby looked puzzled. "But what does this tree have to do with the mean animals?" she asked.

Oliver smiled. "The tree is a symbol of strength and resilience. Just like this tree, you must learn to stand tall and not let the actions of others sway you. Instead of focusing on their selfishness, focus on your own kindness and generosity. The more you give, the more you will receive in return, not just in physical things but in respect and love."

Ruby thought about Oliver's words and decided to practice kindness despite the actions of others. Over time, she noticed that her kindness inspired other animals to be kind as well. The fox who once pushed her aside began to share berries, and the squirrel who refused to share nuts started to offer her some.

The forest became a friendlier place, all because Ruby chose to rise above the negativity and spread kindness. And whenever she faced a challenge, she would think of the wise old owl and the lesson of the sturdy tree by the stream.

Moral of the Story: Be like the sturdy tree stand tall and be kind, even when others are not. Your positive actions can inspire and change those around you.
