Hyundai has unveiled the all-new 2024 Santa Fe at AutoMobility LA, introducing its ‘Open for More’ concept which emphasizes a wider liftgate opening and an expansive interior.
The Santa Fe’s new liftgate seamlessly integrates with its
surroundings, transforming the rear space from a mere storage area into a
versatile terrace-like extension for enjoying the outdoors.
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing, LLC (HMMA) has committed $190
million to upgrade tooling and equipment for the production of the new
fifth-generation Santa Fe, which will be available in the 2.5T model starting
February and the Hybrid model in spring.
The 2024 Santa Fe enhances its urban and adventure-ready
appeal with a more spacious, terrace-like area created by a longer wheelbase
and larger liftgate. This extended wheelbase also accommodates standard
third-row seating without sacrificing roominess.
José Muñoz, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North
America, highlighted the significance of the Santa Fe as Hyundai’s first SUV in
the U.S. over two decades ago. “With the 2024 Santa Fe, we continue our
transformation of the Hyundai brand and the SUV market, attracting more
customers with its bold design, spacious interior, and ability to blend urban
lifestyles with the natural environment.”
Exterior Design: Bold
Presence for an Outdoor Lifestyle
The new Santa Fe showcases a bold design strategy, starting
with an enlarged liftgate that facilitates outdoor enjoyment, and extending to
its overall exterior look. The SUV’s rectangular surfacing and extended
wheelbase present a confident road presence, with clean lines, robust wheel
arches, and available 21-inch alloy wheels. The rear features a wider liftgate
that is nearly six inches wider than the previous model, while the H-shaped
taillamps complement the front design for a cohesive look.
The Santa Fe is available in 11 exterior colors, including
Phantom Black, Serenity White Pearl, Shimmering Silver Metallic, and Ecotronic
Gray Matte.
Interior Design:
Sophisticated and Functional
Inside, the Santa Fe’s design mirrors its exterior with
horizontal and vertical elements that enhance the SUV's character. The interior
includes a new UV-C sterilization compartment and a dual wireless charging
system for smartphones. The 12.3-inch Panoramic Curved Display integrates the
digital gauge cluster and infotainment system, adding a premium touch.
The longer wheelbase provides generous interior space, with
foldable second- and third-row seats that create a terrace-like area at the
liftgate. Eco-friendly materials are used throughout, including recycled carbon
for exterior trim and bamboo charcoal-coating for the Ecotronic Gray color.
The Santa Fe is offered in four interior colors: Obsidian
Black, Supersonic Gray, Pecan Brown, and Forest Green.
Practical Profile for
Urban and Outdoor Use
The 2024 Santa Fe excels in cargo capacity, accommodating
everything from sports equipment to camping gear. It features a self-concealing
grab handle within the C-pillar for easy roof storage access. The SUV offers
best-in-class third-row legroom and improved rear headroom, with additional
legroom in both the 2.5T and Hybrid models.
Premium Features for
Comfort and Convenience
The Santa Fe includes premium features like a Relaxation
Comfort seat with leg rest, second-row power-reclining captain’s chairs, and a
bilateral multi-console storage space. It also offers a dual wireless charging
system, standard Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto®, and a UV-C
sterilization compartment.
Over-The-Air (OTA) updates keep the vehicle’s software
current, while Digital Key 2 provides convenient smartphone access. Hyundai Pay
allows for parking and fueling payments from inside the vehicle.
Advanced Driver
Assistance and Safety Features
The Santa Fe is equipped with various driver assistance
features, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist,
and the new Forward Attention Warning (FAW) system. Additional features include

Powertrains
The 2024 Santa Fe offers two efficient powertrains: a
2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 277 horsepower and a 1.6-liter turbocharged
hybrid engine with a combined output of 231 horsepower.
Fuel economy ratings for the 2.5T model range from 20
city/29 highway to 19 city/26 highway for the XRT model, while the hybrid model
